The interest of a lot of person is aroused by the electric car: the car manufacturers as much as the future buyers, the states and the ecologist organizations. The researches on the electric car are more and more pushed as the technology advences.

The French manufacturer Renault announces on its site that it projects to be the first manufacturer to propose vehicles with zero greenhouse gases releasing, accessible to the largest number, and this from 2011. “The electric car doesn’t emit any greenhouse gases while used. The ally of Renault and Nissan develops a complete range of 100% electric vehicles of which power will oscillate between 15kW and 100kW. For Renault, the electric vehicle constitutes the real answer to the current environment problems and noise pollution. The technical innovations are making real the offer of electric mass for reasonable costs. Besides, the evolution of everyday life’s car uses sets the electric car as the ideal vehicle for most of the trips. Today, 80% of the Europeans travel less than 60km a day.”

The interest of important car manufacturers is obvious, as the desire to develop a high technology electric car.

Autolib'

As seen previously, the city of Paris plans to create a network with self-service electric motor cars in Paris, inspired by the famous Vélib '. This project, which is now in progress, shows that the electric car can be used by the general public, but in a way which is different from the “classic” one. Thanks to autolib’, a user will be able to have a vehicle at his disposal for durations going from a few hours to a few days. The project is to be successful, as indicated on the site of the Mairie de Paris: “4 billion inhabitants of the Ile –de-France are favorable to the concept, 2,5 billion aim at using Autolib’. A real demand emerges.
